Family Update

It has been a long time since I have blogged, but I figured its about time. There are so many new things going on in our lives right now. I'll start with the boys first...

Ethan and Eli
The boys are growing up so fast this momma cant hardly stand it. But the stage they are in right now is so much fun. Tony and I are having a blast with the twins. They are crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. They are learning how to fall pretty well, but we still have battle wounds everyday. Its funny how at this young age they are already learning how to read me. When they fall and it really doesn't hurt them they will look at me to see if I was watching and kinda give me a whine. Ill look at them and say your ok and sometimes thats enough for them and sometimes they wont stop whining till I pick them up. They are very smart. They have figured out how to open our entertainment doors which has been a challenge. They are at the stage where they are learning right from wrong. They know what it means when momma or daddy says no, if they mind or not that is the question. Eli has gotten pretty good at minding and listens to momma and daddy pretty well. Ethan, well we may need to try a different tactic with him.

The boys do everything together! Where ever one crawls the other one follows, whichever item one pulls up on the other pulls up on as well. Whatever toy one has the other one wants. They fight with each other and love on each other. It is so fun to watch them interact. I think they are a lot more daring because they have someone else to be daring with. Which I have a feeling will only get worse for this momma and daddy has they get older. They are so much a like but so different at the same time. Both boys have totally different personalities! Eli is into everything. He is usually the first to do something. he has always been just a few steps ahead of Ethan, but Ethan is never to far behind and he catches up really fast. Eli loves to love on his momma and give her lots of kisses and hugs! He also wants to eat everything on my plate, I let him try many things but there are some I say, "You will just have to wait!" Ethan loves on his momma but not as much as Eli. He has become more independent from his momma, but when he is in a loving mood he is so sweet!

The boys both have their bottom two teeth and have cut their top two teeth. They are loving trying new foods and I love giving them new foods. We will soon be trying non pureed foods like avocados, peaches, graham crackers, banana's, sweet potatoes, and so much more. They love to eat and I have never had troubles feeding them their food they have always gobbled it up. Unfortunately they are still not gaining enough weight. We just went to their 9 month check up and they hit a plateau where they aren't growing as fast as they were. The doctor suggested that we need to add more calories to their diet. They were in the 3rd and 5th percentile for height and weight, but we are getting there! Eli weighed 16.7 and Ethan weighed 16.6 pounds. Eli was 26 inches and a quarter and Ethan was 26 inches and a half. Its so crazy how they are basically the same size!! It must be an identical twin thing! They are still saying momma, daddy, and bubba. We are working on other words like grandpa, grandma, nana, papa, aunt, uncle, dog, cat. Im sure it wont be long! Eli is showing lots of interest in walking and standing by himself which is so exciting! Ethan wont be to far behind as I said before he catches up really fast! They are so much fun right now as they are just full of laughs, smiles, and love! We just cant get enough of those sweet boys!

Tony and Me
We are so excited and anxious because we will be moving into our new home in less than two weeks!!! The packing is slowly coming along but Im sure it will pick up real fast. It is a beautiful, historical home with lots of character that sits on an acre! It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and a hugh living room and kitchen! We couldn't be more excited and ready to be there! We are all outgrowing our little duplex! Tony is loving his job and doing a great job! I knew he would because he is such a hard worker and I am so blessed to have him in my life! I have decided to go into real estate! Our realtor told me that I really needed to get into real estate and that she would train me and teach me everything I needed to know! She has been doing this for a very long time and has great reputation so I couldn't be more thrilled. This job will give me the flexibility I so desperately want! I will still get to spend so much time with the boys and when Ill be working they get to stay with their grandma! There are so many exciting things going on in the Romero family we are just loving life and enjoying family. Thank you to everyone who love and support us we are so blessed!

Update on Ethan and Eli!

A lot has gone on since my last post. Ethan and Eli are growing up so fast and everyday they are becoming more and more personable. Tony and I really believe that the boys have their daddy's sense of humor which we love! They talk all the time, they probably got that from me or their Auntie Am. They have the sweetest laughs and their smiles are so big it will just melt your heart. One of the best new things to watch develop is their love and interest for each other. Having twins is such a neat experience. I knew they would love each other but I never knew that I would be able to see that love this early. They talk to each other all the time, hold hands every time they are together, and just gaze at each other with eyes that let you know they are telling each other they love each other.  Their hair is growing so fast! You would be amazed at how much hair they already have. Oddly enough Ethan's hair is growing faster than Eli's. Tony and I are just enjoying every new thing we discover!

The boys have turned 5 months old!! Gosh I can't believe they are already 5 months old!! Well that means they had another wellness check-up. Ethan weighs 14 lbs and Eli weighs 13.9 lbs. Ethan is 23 inches and Eli is 22 inches. We thought that this time Eli would weigh more than his bubba because he has been our little eater, but Ethan is pretty much pure muscle! Its amazing how strong both of them are but Ethan has quads like no other baby I've seen. I've convinced myself Ethan is going to be a baseball catcher and Eli is going to be the pitcher and together they will be unstoppable! Another interesting fact Eli was taller than Ethan last Dr. Appointment and now Ethan is taller. Their doctor is very impressed with how well they are progressing developmentally. Ethan and Eli are rolling over champs, they can almost sit up on their own, they are picking up their toys, grabbing whatever is put in front of them, following us and other objects, standing with little support, and much more! I'm so proud of our sweet baby boys!

Eating solids has been another fun adventure we have experienced. It is so fun to see their facial expressions with different foods we introduce to them. Ethan has actually caught on faster than Eli. Which was a shock to us, because Eli has always been a step ahead of his bubba since birth. Ethan likes rice cereal and veggies best, while Eli likes fruits and isn't as crazy for rice cereal. I haven't tried oatmeal, but that is the next thing they are going to try!

The boys have also had their first cold. They have just amazed me at how happy they are even when they don't feel good! The doctor said that if this cold hasn't turned into an ear infection yet than it probably wont which was great news. She said they looked like very healthy boys! Something I have been so blessed with. The one thing I have always heard since they were in my tummy is how healthy they are. I couldn't be more happy and thankful. I thank God everyday for the two blessings he has brought into my life. Thanks for reading! God Bless!

The Park

Tony and I have found this park that we have fallen in love with! Its beautiful and only 5 minutes from where we live. It has become our family routine to go there every night after dinner. The weather here has been fabulous lately! The park is big and has a half mile walking trail with tons of trees and a creek running down the side. It also has tons of swings and jungle gyms for the kids to play on, as well as tons of open field to play all kinds of games. There is a volley ball court, basketball court, and a pavilion! Right now the boys aren't big enough for a lot of the things the park as to offer, but Tony and I have big ideas of all we can do with the boys when they get older.

The time we spend at the park has become my favorite time of the day. Tony and I spend that time telling each other all about our day. Our struggles and joys that have faced. Its also a time we use to get to know each other even better than we did before. We try and quiz each other to see if there is anything we don't know about each other. We also talk about our future and what we want to accomplish. Our dreams for our children and much more. It has been such a special family time. Its such a great time to unwind from our day and enjoy being with family.

We love to stroll the boys and the boys love to go to the park. Even when they are a little fussy you put them in the stroller and they calm down. Its so fun to watch the boys look at all the trees and their surroundings. We have talked about when the boys get big enough how we will play football in the big field and basketball on the basketball courts. But for now we are just enjoying the moment and the sweet talks we get to have with each other. The Lord has blessed us so much. We couldn't be more happy! We are in such a neat place in our lives right now and so excited for all the joys that are to come!

Thanks for reading and God Bless!

Today's Thoughts...

Today is Ethan and Eli's 4 months! That means we have lived in AR for almost two months. Its crazy how fast time flies. We watched our Clemson Tigers play a great game today. We were all dressed up in our Clemson outfits cheering them on as a family! Its such a different feeling being a Clemson fan in NW Arkansas. We live 10 minutes from the University and there are hogs everywhere! Instead of seeing everyone dressed in their Clemson clothes and flying their Clemson flags we see Razorbacks everywhere. Not that we are against the Razorbacks, but we are Clemson fans first! Its also hard to see the stadium on TV knowing that Tony and I use to go to the games all the time together. Crazy how your life changes so quickly. Its been nice getting on fb and seeing the usual clemson and gamecock comments. I told Tony its a little piece of home staying connected that way. Don't get me wrong we are settling in well in our new home, but we do miss SC! We know we will make new memories and find new places to visit that we love here, but we will always have a special place in hearts for SC and all the people we love there!

The Lord has blessed us so much. We know that He brought us here! He has big plans for our family and we cant wait to see what he has in store for us. We are just relying on Him to show us the way and guide us. He has already blessed us with wonderful friends and family here! He has also allowed me to stay home with the boys, which is one of the best gifts I could ever ask for! We are still searching for a church home. Please pray for our family has we look for a church home for our family. We are desperately wanting that fellowship again with God and church family!

God Bless!

24th Birthday!

Yesterday was my 24th Birthday! It was one of the best birthdays I've had! It was my first birthday with my precious baby boys! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift! I want to say thank you to all my family and friends who wished me a happy birthday and made my birthday so special!

My birthday started with a good night sleep from my sweet boys! They let mommy sleep till 4:30am! They are getting so good at night time! After a good night sleep me and the family ate at Hammontree's Grilled Cheese for lunch!

Hammontree's is gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and soups! I must say it was amazing! After lunch my mom and sisters took me to see the movie The Help! A really good movie! I laughed and cried! While we were at the movies the boys got to stay with their mimi and papa great! Im sure they had so much fun!

When Tony got home from work he brought me the most beautiful flowers and several pictures of the boys in a picture frame! Such a great gift good job Tony!! I love you!!
After hanging out with our sweet baby boys Tony and I headed off to dinner at Showgun, while Grandma and Grandpa watched the boys. Apparently Showgun's is one of the only Japanese restaurants around here. It doesn't have the original white sauce, but I still thought it was good! I had really good sushi of course!!
I do have to say Tony and I really miss Kanpai! But Showgun's was really good as well! After eating to much sushi Tony treated me to coldstone ice cream!! Most of the dinner we talked about how much we love our kids and how much we missed them! They really are the coolest kids ever! After ice cream we went back home to snuggle and hang out with Ethan and Eli! Here are a few picks of the family taken on my birthday! :)

All and all it was such a wonderful birthday! I got to spend the day with the people I love the most! Life is so good! Thanks again to everyone for the birthday wishes!

Happy 3 Months!!

Today is Ethan and Eli's 3 month birthday! We had such a great day today. It started out with the boys sleeping for 7 hours straight last night!!! I couldn't believe it! It was the first time they had ever done that. Being the first time mom that I am, I had to get up ever hour to check on them because this was not normal behavior! Next Auntie Am and Aunt Brittney come over and hung out with all of us! The boys love spending time with the aunts! Today was also their uncle Mikes birthday so they got to celebrate with him at the Grandparents house! So we had a fun filled day today!

Coming up to the three month mark had Tony and I reminiscing back to the NICU days. They have come so far since those days. I remember when we would leave the hospital feeling so defeated because we couldn't get them to take their bottles. Also how we would celebrate when the boys would take 1/2 an ounce! Today they are up to 4 ounces and taking their bottles like a champ! They have grown so much I cant even believe it! Every day they are progressing more and more! I love spending time with them and look forward to what's all to come!

We dressed the boys up in their braves outfit to celebrate their 3 months! And yes I did match them...lol!
Eli during tummy time! He will be crawling before we know it! (Sry picture is blurry I was in a hurry to capture this pic!)
